Sept/October Newsletter

A New Roof For The Church! In September, we welcomed back our friends from Families of Mission. This is always such a refreshing time for our staff and us, even though there is a lot of work! There were several projects that they dived right into, from helping with renovations at the volunteer house in the village, landscaping at the church, and working alongside our staff to construct a new roof. They even had time for food distribution to our new neighbors over the mountain ridge and hiked to the top of the mountain to pray over the communities below. Half of this team has made multiple trips to serve with us, and they are able to continue to build relationships as well as form new ones. They will be returning in January and February, along with another group from Texarkana, to do some construction projects. We are looking forward to all God will do!

Youth Group Discipleship A few weeks ago, we were able to send twelve of our youth group students to a weekend at Alas de Fe in La Esperanza, in the mountains which is about three hours away. They loved joining with a hundred other youth from across Honduras to worship and grow in the Word. They came home recharged in their walk with the Lord. This was made possible through our monthly supporters who partner with us monthly to provide opportunities such as this!

A Time To Build God has blessed us with so much growth over the last three and a half years. This growth has been in all aspects of the ministry. With that growth, God has been faithful to supply fellow laborers, some short-term and some long-term. In January, Mollie and Jared Pounds will be joining us full-time. Having served two years with us teaching at Cornerstone and discipling teen girls, Mollie, is excited to return this time with her husband Jared, whose experience in ranching and livestock, will be a great asset to the ranch in maintaining and growing the livestock herds as well as using this knowledge to train and equip others both in livestock and in the Gospel. We also have three short-term teams coming in January and February to help with the construction projects for volunteer housing. We need financial partners to help come alongside this project - learn how to join our building campaign.

Prayer Requests: We are so thankful for those who keep this ministry covered in prayer. God gives us three daily marching orders: 1) To seek first His kingdom (Mattew 6:33), 2) to give thanks, and 3) to pray without ceasing ( 1 Thess 5:16-18). Nothing of value happens without these three things taking place first. We appreciate you coming alongside us to pray over these things:

1) Pray specifically for a family we are ministering to. The little boy of 5 years old, his name is Liam, has cancer and must have a bone marrow transplant for any chance of survival. Pray for them to find their comfort and hope in the Lord. 2) Pray as we travel to the US Nov 5-20. We will enjoy an early Thanksgiving with family and share with small groups and churches. 3) Pray for Honduras as we enter into the election season at the end of November, this is historically a time of riots and unrest. 4)Pray for a new community that now borders the ranch, displaced from the hurricane last year and has relocated next to the ranch. This is a community of extreme poverty with no running water or electricity. We have recently begun community outreach and weekly Bible study. 5)Pray for Mollie as she heals from a car accident resulting in a broken ankle and as she and Jared prepare to move in January along with baby Pounds coming in March or April. 6)Pray for the harvest! For boldness, courage and against any distraction, the enemy would bring.
